A good plan would be to get MPICH2, which is an all-new implemantation
of MPI by the MPICH team. It replaces the whole old p4 library, and has
better diagnostics on system configuration, as well as being an
implementation of 100% of the MPI-2 standard. Get it from
http://www.mcs.anl.gov/mpi/mpich and if there are problems email
mpich2-maint at mcs.anl.gov. There are some significant differences in how
the new version starts processes, so look at the documentation in the
User's Guide on moving from MPICH1 to MPICH2.
