I think $1k might be a little low, but I can definately price a
dual-em64t node from Dell for under $2k. Take a look at the recently
announced PowerEdge SC1425. It takes away some of the bells and
whistles that aren't needed in a compute node so that they can sell the
basic box for cheaper.
