Unable to LOAD eepro100.c V 1.08 due to UNRESOLVED SYMBOLS error.

I have downloaded v 1.08 on Linux Red Hat 6.0. It compiled successfully,
however I am anable to use it since both depmod and insmod report UNRESOLVED
SYMBOLS errors. It looks like that in order to compile this version new
compilation string should be used or ...?
I would like also report that with v 1.06 transmission hangs under heavly
load almost immediatly.
