Hi,
I am in need of a Linux network interface driver for the Intel
EtherExpress Pro/10 PCI board (the one that uses the PLX9036 PCI
interface chip with the Intel i82596 LAN controller chip)
The driver also has to function with newer 2.2.x kernels.
I have many of these cards and I would like to use them with Linux if
possible.
I tried manually compiling the 82596.c as a module. It compiles and
loads, but it doesn't drive the network board. I'm not even sure if it
is even supposed to. Any ideas what the 82596.c code is supposed to be
for? (comes with the linux-2.2.12 kernel sources)
I have been to this site:
http://www.ultranet.com/~stalba/eep10pci.html
but was unable to successfully compile eep10pci.c under kernel 2.2.12.
I received a message like this:
"this driver uses the old PCI
interface..."
Compiling then fails with other errors.
I referneced the above site from:
http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/index.html#PCI
Does anybody know how to compile eep10pci.c under kernel 2.2.x
or,
Does anybody know of another linux driver for this board?
Best regards,
Charles Wilkins
