Newbie & network

I realize this is not directly related to this list, but it is one of
the easiest places that I could think of.

I have a Pentium 200 PCI board using a Microdyne NIC using the Intel
chip. It seems to not complain when the machine is booting, but I just
can't see anything. I need to make sure of the minimum parameters that
are required to get a machine visible on a 10Baset network were the only
other machines are a NT4 Server and a P100 W95 laptop.

I am attempting my first use of a L/Unix based OS, and have started with
Red Hat 5.1.

Any assistance/pointers would be appreciated.
