My Intel PCI EtherExpress Pro100B 82557 chip is detected as 82555 after
eepro100 module is loaded during boot.  Ping gets no results and
eepro100 eventually auto unloads.  When I insmod "eepro100.o debug=1
options=0x50", module stays installed but ping again sees no receive
packets.  I am running RedHat 5.0, v 2.0.31 and am new to ethernet on
Linux.  However, it works fine with Linux on my laptop with pcmcia
Linksys board.
