I've come across a problem with the latest driver. I've download the
eepro100 driver
(with the pci-scan and kern-compat files) and built them into a 2.2.17
kernel. On boot
I get 8 ethernet devices (eth0-7). Now there's only one device in the
machine (an 82559
base PCI card in an Alpha UP1000).
I found a couple of references to this in the archives, one suggesting
it went away
if it was a module, however I rather need the driver compiled in. This
was all on
RedHat 7.0, compiled with kgcc.
any ideas?
thanks,

P.S. I also tried adding this with 2.2.18aa1 (again for Alpha) and the
machines appears to lock
solid when trying to DHCP an address for eth0.
