eepro100 problems with Sony Vaio 505RX

I have a Sony Vaio Z505RX running Red Hat 6.1, with 2.3.42 kernel.
Otherwise the systems work 100% well (sans the winmodem, of course)
*except* with the transmissions of the eepro100 network port.

Basically, the driver/card start having problems when lot of transmissions
are done from the machine -- such as writing a file to NFS. Reading works
withouth any problems. I can reproduce the problem using pine on an
NFS-mounted INBOX (nope, it's not the problems with the NFS server itself,
the desktop machine with 2.2.10 and also eepro100 card works).

I've tried fudging around with NFS settings, setting eth0 txqueuelen
to 1 etc. Here's the eepro100 driver information at module
insertion. Anything else you'd need to know?
