If the card is not embedded, try a different slot; however, I have the same
card and OS, and even when the card doesn't share an IRQ, it will still hang
occasionally; power cycle usually fixes the problem. As to which slot to
place in, consult mainboard manual (if included) or Dell tech support; if
embedded, you might want to try a standard PCI version of card.

i am also having a system hang problem. My system hangs when running
ifconfig (e.g. at boot, or from ifup, etc.), or when loading the
eepro100.o module. i am using redhat 6.2 with kernel 2.2.14 on a dell
dimension L566cx. The eepro driver version is v1.09j-t 9/29/99
i noticed by looking at /proc/pci that both the eepro and some
on-board usb hardware share the same IRQ (9). It doesn't seem as if
my BIOS allows changing those IRQs. That seems a likely candidate for
the problem. any ideas?
thanks
