[eepro100] What do RX-FIFO errors mean?

I have a program that reads off of a raw PACKET socket on my laptop.
I'm using a 3com 575BT CardBus NIC, but I'm hoping the question/answer is general
enough that some of you kind folks will know :)
As I start running higher rates (1.54Mbps) I start getting RX-FIFO errors.
The question is, what causes RX-FIFO errors, and what can I do
to make them go away? It must have something to do with my program,
as I don't see the problem when I have it configured in certain
ways. I also do not see the problem on my built-in RTL8139 NIC.
However, I'm at a loss as to what the exact difference is.
As an aside, does the eepro100 driver (standard in the 2.4 series
kernel) support CardBus NICs? It doesn't seem to work in my
laptop, but there may be other issues. Does the e100?
Thanks,
Ben
