[eepro100] Kernel version mismatch when running insmod eepro100.o

Hi
   When I compile my eepro100.c (v2.3) and test the module using insmod
eepro100.o, it complains that the kernel-module version mismatch.
>eepro100.o: kernel-module version mismatch
        eepro100.o was compiled for kernel version 2.4.0-0.26
        while this kernel is version 2.2.16-22.
What must I do to resolve this mismatch ?

I will apprepriate if anyone can provide an answer to this.
