[eepro100] 80000 IRQs / sec on eth1 on SMP machine.

Hi folks,
I am using an ION 2150 with two Pentium III CPUs and three Intel eepro100
cards.
Twice now I have seen the following odd behavior when I ifconfig eth1 up:
The card will start reporting interrupts arriving at about 80000 / sec. I
determine the rate by doing "cat /proc/interrupts" at ten second intervals
and dividing by 10. (Hi tech huh?). I am running an out of the box RedHat
6.2 and the driver identifies itself as:
eepro100c:v.109 j-t 9/29/99 ...
eepro100c: $Revision: 1.18 1999/12/29 ...
One other oddity is the IRQs which are detected at eth0: IRQ 18, eth1: IRQ
20 and eth2: IRQ 26. Is this normal for SMP?
When I "ifconfig eth1 down" and then "ifconfig eth1 up" the interrupts come
in at a rate I would expect for the traffic on the card.
Any clues what might be going on here?
Knowledge is power, thanks in advance for the help!!
Mike
