[eepro100] eepro100 driver frequently dying in Linux 2.4.4

Situation 1 certainly is exactly what I see on my Intel STL2 motherboard
machines (whichever chip release they use).
So it sounds like there's a simple patch I can make to turn off sleep
mode?
