[eepro100] eepro100 v1.17b Unknown receiver error with Intel 82559

Hi all,

We are testing the Adlink PCI-8214 Dual Port card with Intel 82559
chipset in a Linux machine with Kernel 2.4.5 . We are using the
eepro100.c driver: v1.17b/14/2001 from Donald Becker.
We are generating high UDP traffic ( about 75Mbps ) through both ports
of the Adlink card which are in a transparent bridging mode and
promiscous mode.
During this test with UDP traffic we receive following error messages:

Oct 12 16:38:18 router kernel: eth2: Unknown receiver error,
status=0x5048.
Oct 12 16:39:18 router kernel: eth2: Unknown receiver error,
status=0x5048.
Oct 12 16:39:18 router kernel: eth2: Unknown receiver error,
status=0x1048.
Oct 12 16:39:18 router kernel: eth2: Unknown receiver error,
status=0x5048.
…. ( each minute one entry)

These messages appear only with UDP traffic.
With high TCP traffic ( about 75Mbps ) this error does not occur.
We tried to solve this problem by deactivation of the SLEEP MODE of the
LAN card.
Disable SLEEP MODE with command:
# eepro100-diag  –ee –G 0 -ww

--Without success.

Any ideas ?
