[eepro100] linux eepro100 problem

Dear linuxers,

I have installed Linux Mandrake 8.0 on a Pentium III computer with AOpen
MX3S Main board (Chipset Intel i815, BIOS R1.11), which has a LAN adaptor
onboard (I am not quite sure, but it seems to be 82562EM). The installer
detected the LAN adaptor and installed the driver eepro100.c 
When using the network the LAN adapter is frequently stopped, giving 
typical messages as
Oct 22 08:57:15 cdteo kernel: eepro100: wait_for_cmd_done timeout!
Oct 22 08:57:19 cdteo kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Oct 22 08:57:19 cdteo kernel: eth0: Transmit timed out: status 0050  0c80
at 25$
Other times, while doing telnet, the system freezes and I need to do
RESET.
I have seen this kind of problem reported in the list, but I have found no
solution clearly stated. Please, let me know if such a solution is already
available.

Some aditional information on my system follows:

1. The system crashes in  any moment when using the telnet

2. When doing telnet, the network connection is unstable. It is interrupted, some times the connection is reestablished , and some times the system crashes, in such a way that the only one responding touch is RESET. It happens in text and in graphics mode
. With Windows 98 I have no problem.
