[eepro100] eepro100 timeout bug and possible reason/solution

Hello,

My setup is Thinkpad  A30 with a built in eepro100 and RedHat 7.2

The original driver was failing so an internet search guided my to this
site.

Few minutes after using the eepro driver, I was getting the following
error:

 kernel: eepro100: wait_for_cmd_done timeout!

Then it resets the network card chip.


After trying everything,  I disabled the bios PCI power saver feature.
Everything worked perfectly after that.
