This has been covered many time: there are many problems that can
trigger this message.

Some of the problem sources, such as out-of-skbuffs, cannot be
fixed. Removing the message does *not* fix the problem. Other problems,
such as firmware bugs, cannot be fixed by the driver. Yet other problem
are caused by the driver, and you didn't specify which driver version
you are using.

Linux does not use mbufs, it uses skbuffs.

Yes, a buffer shortage could be caused by various type of incoming
traffic. Synfloods are one. Compounding the problem is that post 2.0
kernels are not very good about keeping around available skbuffs, and
can take a lot of CPU time to allocate new memory regions for skbuffs.

What is the incoming packet rate?
Have you increased the VM parameters as previously suggested on this list?
