Problem Transmit timeout, status 0d 0000 media 08.

Hello,
I have the following problem :
On my linux 2.2.12 with an Level One FNC-0101TX (realtek8139A) and the
rtl8139.c (v 1.07) the transmission stops randomly (it only happens, when
a lot of samll packets have to be transmitted (about 80 kbytes/s) ) On that server
is running a half-life dedicated server). Those errrors only happen sometimes
(as said) and it doesen't depend on the amount of player that are playing.
The server runs for hours than those errors occur and after sometimes the
erorr doesn't occur for the next 20 hours.

May my network-card have an error, or is this a known driver error.
