I am not subscribed to this list. but would like to ask a question.
I have a Realtek network card installed in my desktop computer and in =
the past few days had a DSL modem installed.
The installers test of the line from a dedicated download test site with =
his laptop achieved a download speed of around 205k per second which is =
around what is expected.
The test on my computer which is a PIII 733, with 256M Ram, and an ASUS =
P3V4X Motherboard running WIN98 2nd could only achieve a maximum of 105K =
per second download rate.=20
Is there some setting I can change or that should be changed to get a =
faster download rate?
My Realtek info that I can tell is as follows.
- Realtek RTL8139(A/B/C/8130) PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
- Hardware version 016
- Provider Realtek
- Date 7-20-1999
- File Version 5.364.0715.1999
Any help would be appreciated. Please just reply to the list instead of =
personally and I will just go to the web site and check for responses =
their.
Thanks, Thomas
