You need a newer version of the 8139too driver, which in your case
simply adds a new PCI id to an internal table, which lists all PCI ids
compatible with the 8139 driver.
The 8139too driver update can be downloaded from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gkernel/
Or obtained from Linus' testing patch 2.4.4-pre5, against kernel 2.4.3,
at
ftp://ftp.us.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/testing/
Or obtained from Alan Cox's patchkit, patched against kernel 2.4.3, at
ftp://ftp.us.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/testing/
All users of 8139too who were seeing problems should definitely update
to version 0.9.16, which includes several fixes for longstanding
problems.
