I'm building a new system, tried using the iso's for redhat 7 with the
2.2.16-22 kernel and mandrake 7.2 with the 2.2.17-21mdksecure kernel.
Neither system will detect or allow installation of my pair of D-Link
dfe-530Tx+ nic's using the rtl8139 driver). lspci - reveals:
00:0b.0 Ethernet controller: D-Link System Inc: Unknown device 1300 (rev 10)
Subsystem: D-Link System Inc: Unknown device 1301
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 10
I/O ports at d800
Memory at df000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2
and yet, when I try to insmod rtl8139, I get this:
/lib/modules/__kernel Version__/net/rtl8139.o: init_module: Device or
resource busy
I also tried using variations of "insmod rtl8139 io=0xd800", but it would
not accept the parameters. I made sure my BIOS was set to non-pnp. I've
tried slots 2-5 with each card on its own, to no avail.
Any suggestions or comments would be welcome. Please send replies to me
instead of the list.
