[realtek] Slow transfer speed

Hi folks,

I am new to this group. Seems everybody here is using a kind of Unix OS :-)

I have different problem. I am running Windows XP on Toshiba Satelite 
3000-601 notebook. There is build in Realtek 8139 family card. On my 
destktop PC I am able to achieve 100-500 kbps (in some nods of network) 
or 80-100 kbps (in some others). But with the notebook I get just 
freaking 8-10 kbps.

I'd really appreciate to learn how to speed up that freaking machine :-)
