ok so i downloaded new kernel 2.4.19. compiled it with
internal pcmcia.
downloaded netdrivers and compiled them. also compiled
rtl8139.c with different command as realtek_cb.
depmod -a gives lot of unresolved symbols:
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/pci-skeleton.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/starfire.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/sundance.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/tulip.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/via-rhine.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/winbond-840.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/yellowfin.o
thats only part of the list, but theyre all card
drivers i dont need.unless i need pci-skeleton.
insmod cb_enabler, ok no prob
but, dont know if i need that:
it204:/px/public/pcmcia-cs-3.2.1 # insmod cb_shim
returns:
Using /lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/cb_shim.o
/lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/cb_shim.o: unresolved
symbol unregister_driver
/lib/modules/2.4.19/pcmcia/cb_shim.o: unresolved
symbol register_driver
hm hm hm, didnt say so before....
same with insmod realtek_cb:
Using
/lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/drivers/net/realtek_cb.o
/lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/drivers/net/realtek_cb.o:
unresolved symbol unregister_driver
/lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/drivers/net/realtek_cb.o:
unresolved symbol register_driver
insmod rtl8139 does not find a device.
which still leaves me with no working pcmcia nic.

i guess that would be needed to automatize the loading
of modules, but as they stll dont load manually....
any more suggestions , or should i return the card,
since it fails to deliver a promised feature (i asked
if it works with linux).
