Linux 2.0.39pre1
v0.91g tulip.c (downloaded and built into monolithic kernel)
2 cards (Netgear FA310TX D2) in machine (ppro uniprocessor)
from dmesg:
tulip.c:v0.91g 7/16/99 becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov
eth0: Lite-On 82c168 PNIC rev 32 at 0xf800, 00:A0:CC:5D:79:68, IRQ 9.
eth0: MII transceiver #1 config 3000 status 7829 advertising 01e1.
eth1: Lite-On 82c168 PNIC rev 32 at 0xf400, 00:A0:CC:5D:79:6B, IRQ 5.
eth1: MII transceiver #1 config 3000 status 7829 advertising 01e1.
Symptoms:
Same as reported by Mukund (mukund@Resonate.com) and Brian Pruss
(prussbw@rose-hulman.edu) on February 5th and 6th, 2000.
Card stops sending packets (only out the eth0 interface in the single
occurance I've seen), all received packets are dropped. No error
messages logged.
ifconfig down/up has no effect, only a reboot cured this.
Any reasonable workaround appreciated. This is on a test firewall that
I'd like to declare stable before upgrading the production firewall.
Barring a workaround, what 10/100 card(s) can be considered completely
stable in 2.0.39?
Thanks,
Dave
