problems with tulip driver and mx98715

dear ladies and gentlemen,

i'm very sorry for my bad english, but i'll try my best. i've got a
network card MX98715AEC   and i need the tulip driver. the tulip modul
is loaded correct, no error messages. the problem is, that the network
cards (mx98715 and the card on the other side) get no connection on
hardware level. normaly the LEDs going on if the cards get a connection,
independent of software drivers. if the computer works with w95 there
are no problems with the driver. i can connect and disconnect the
mx98175 with another card everytime. but if the computer works with
linux, a connection is only possible when the other computer is booted
and the computer with the mx98175 is booted behind.
an example:

computer 1 : with mx98175
computer 2 : another network card

1.  computer 2 goes up
2.  computer 1 goes up with w95
result: network connection is ok

1.  computer 2 goes up
2.  computer 1 goes up with linux
result: network connection is ok

1.  computer 1 goes up with w95
2.  computer 2 goes up
result: network connection is ok

1.  computer 1 goes up with linux
2.  computer 2 goes up
result: network connection is NOT ok, the LEDs are off
i tryed to unload the driver and then load the driver again, no success

pleas ehelp me and send me an answer, because i haven't any idea how i
can eliminate the problem
