OK, once again I'm using tulip.c:v0.92w but this time with kernel
2.4.7-pre6.  The driver has only been in use for the past 5 minutes or
so, so I can't say anything about it thus far.  If she chokes again,
she'll choke over the weekend and likely remain choked until Monday
morning at which time I'll probe the card's state with tulip-diag as
suggested.

Until 5 mins ago I was using the kernel's own tulip driver.  It has
behaved all day since running the 2.4.7 test kernel.

For the hell of it, here's the current output of tulip-diag with your
v0.92w tulip.c (sorry if this gets wrapped):
