I know that this isn't a quick fix but I went to the same trouble you are
going through except that I am using an Abit bp6 smp board. So I started to
download other distributions and the mandrake 8 beta distribution ( iso is
at http://www.linuxiso.org )installation detected my nc100 card and
installed it correctly. I'm a newbie too and I will just say that it is
worth makin' it work. Even this beta version that I am running doesn't
crash like my windows does.

Subject: [tulip-bug] Can't compile tulip drivers with RedHat 7.0
Hi,
I am a new Linux user. I bought a Network Card Fast Ethernet 10/100 Linksys
NC100 v2.1.
I have got the Redhat 7.0.
I tried to compile the drivers from the rpm sources package or manually,
respecting the instuctions given on scyld.com : use kgcc instead of gcc and
addind the option -I/.../include.
I still get the Error messages.
Is anybody have the same problem, and better, anybody have a solution ?
Thanks,
Vincent.

The RPM should detect the 7.0 changes, and already handle those compile
differences. I suspect that you have an early 7.0 distribution, and
that you must update your glibc package from Red Hat.

As a special case, a precompiled RPM for Red Hat 7.0 running the x86
uniprocessor kernel may be installed by running
rpm -i ftp://ftp.scyld.com/pub/network/netdrivers-rh70.i386.rpm
