Hi;
Been trying to get my ethernet device in my DEC 433a Alpha
workstation going for quite some time.
Mainly my problem is to do with the lack of response from the
ethernet card at boot time. Only a RJ-45 connector is available on the
card interface, which is connected to a 10B-T network running at half
duplex.
I guess I should start with an easy question:
1) How do I detremine which chipset I have? I believe I have
either the 21142 or 21143, but am confused how to determine exactly which
one. The 'tulip-diag' program gives me the result of a 21142, so am I to
accept that answer (sometimes the obvious is not correct ;) )?
Compiling and running the 'tulip-diag' prgram from the tulip
homepage gives me:
tulip-diag.c:v1.03 5/20/98 Donald Becker

Use '-a' to show device registers,
'-e' to show EEPROM contents,
or '-m' to show MII management registers.
Thanks for your help.
