Card choices so far. Best price I found shown.
Cnet CN100TX (DEC or Intel 21143?); Onvia.com $30.70
Kingston KNE100TX (DEC Intel 21143?) ; buy.com $37.02
Linksys LNE100TX (ADMtek Comet or Centaur chipset?); buy.com $16.95
Compex Freedomline 100TX-WOL (21143?) - discontinued but out there?
-- SaleOnSall.com $44.86; bluemoon.net $39.99
Netgear FA310TX (21140AE?); staples.com $27.79
Staples, Onvia.com, bestbuy.com, and buy.com are offering free shipping.
Note on the Netgear. The FA310TX may not really be available; The FA311
and FA312 have replaced the 310 and do not use a tulip chipset. The Compex
freedomline also seems to be discontinued, but maybe still sold new at a few
places. They call that "NOS" (New Old Stock) on the antique automotive
mailing lists :)
If you know of other _currently available_ cards that aren't discontinued,
please chime up! I spend over three hours just to track down this small
list. There are a lot of very similar (and confusing) model numbers from
all the vendors. And much of the cards that people recommend are no longer
available...
Any reason to not just go with the LinkSYS LNE100TX for $16.95? Or is there
another chipset out there that is _as good or better_ than the Tulip and
under $30?
Thanks.
