Ok,
Looks like I found one! The NDC Communications "Sohoware SFA110A" is
supposed to have the Macronix chipset. Word is that this is a good chipset?
Even references on this list from 10 months ago showing good results:
http://www.tux.org/hypermail/linux-tulip/2000-Jan/0022.html
And guess what -- you can still get a $10 rebate per card, max 2 rebates per
household. http://www.sohoware.com/Rebate/1.htm
As I understand it CompUSA sells them, but you can get them at many places
including www.Computers4Sure.com for $14.99. Looks like Onvia.com and
BUy.com are both out of stock... so another good tulip card is going away?
Geesh, what will be left!
So I'm down to two choices:
Linksys LNE100TX (ADMtek Comet or Centaur chipset?); buy.com $16.95
Sohoware SFA110A (Macronix chipset); computers4sure.com $14.99
If anyone can provide final recomendation one way or another that would be
great. Also, I've found references to "no name" cards based on the Macronix
chipset that were even cheaper ($10), but I was unable to locate any. If
you know of any cheaper options, I'd love to replace all my server cards!
Stephen
