I agree that it's still slower than other unixes, but as I said, in my
case, using 8k rsize and wsize gives a quite large increase in
performance.
I wish I'd saved my benchmarks the first or second time I did them. I
don't have time to do them again.

I'm thinking it was around 2 or 3x. Not as much as you could hope for,
but still worthwhile.

It's no small improvement in my case. On the cards I've tried (tulip,
wd8013), it really helped a lot. Maybe it depends on the driver.
