Dual 3C509B cards

Hi,

I have it on one of the higher authorities that this is the best mailing
list to write to with regards to the 3C509B card support for Linux. I
apologize if this is off-topic.

I'm trying to get two 3C509B ISA cards working with Linux. I have two
cards set to non-PNP mode. Using the drivers which came with Linux kernel
2.2.14, I get the ff. results:

1) With the driver compiled as a module, both cards get detected properly
when the module is loaded and I can configure IP addresses for the
interface but when I try to ping the addresses, I get nothing. Interrupt
request counters don't even increase.

2) With the driver compiled statically into the kernel, only of the cards
get detected but is fully useable (I haven't found any problems using
it). The second card, however, doesn't get detected and when I try to
configure an IP address for it, I get an error.

I don't have any other peripherals on the machine save for IDE
harddisks and the VGA card. What should I do to get two 3C509B NICs
supported on Linux? Is it better to have them configured for non-PnP or
PnP?
