[vortex] 3C905C-TX-M vs 3C905CX-TXM

Hi,

I have two 3C905C cards, the one must be at least one year old is 
labeled 3C905C-TX-M, the other one bought yesterday which is 
about 50% smaller than the older one is labeled 3C905CX-TXM.
The newer one, 3C905C-TX-M,  doesn't get detected on a "very old"
PC. Both get detected and work fine on a one-year-old PC.
(Both PC's booted from the same floppy, just to make sure
it's exactly the same kernel, 2.4.16)

Could anybody be so kind and tell me what could be the reason?
