Yes, you are lost :-)
The NIC has 128 bytes of registers; the first 16 bytes are used for 
window-ed access to the 8 windows each with 16 bytes (so a total of 128 
bytes again). This is explained on pages 22-24 of the PDF that 3Com 
provides as documentation for 3C905C on their web site.
The offsets that Donald mentioned are actually real offsets, they 
should not be translated into window+offset.
