Hello,
My box has 3 3c905C cards (one is unused):
00:0c.0 Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3c905C-TX/TX-M [Tornado]
(rev 74)
00:0d.0 Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3c905C-TX/TX-M [Tornado]
(rev 78)
00:0e.0 Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3c905C-TX/TX-M [Tornado]
(rev 78)
On one side I have a 10M interface [eth2] to a wireless box. On
the other side [eth0] I have Cisco Catalyst 2900XL switch in VLAN 802.1q
trunk configuration.
Unfortunately autonegotiation with switch [I have speed/duplex
auto] and with that black box doesn't work. So I gave to force 10/full on
eth2 and 100/full on eth0.
My problem is with eth2:
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:201741849 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:190740131 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
carrier:189531732
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:4082488400 (3893.3 Mb) TX bytes:927242090 (884.2 Mb)
Interrupt:10 Base address:0xa000
and carrier goes up.
I found your posting on the internet about the problems with
forced configurations. Unfortunately autonegotiation does not work, so I
have to use forced settings.
The link is OK, because I tryed with another box [another type of
card - Realtek].
I have: RedHat 8.0, linux-2.4.20-ac1, and for vlans [mtu
problems] I must use driver with version:
LK1.1.16 18 July 2001 akpm
I don't know what should I do with it :( I need VLAN so I have to
use non-kernel driver [why VLAN is not supported in the linux kernel?]
Do you have any idea?
Thank you in advance,
Thomas Jalsovszky
