[vortex] compiling 3c59x.c

I'm trying to compile the 3c59x.c for my
FE575C cardbus.
This is on kernel 2.4.22

I tried various command lines and this one works

gcc -DCARDBUS -DMODULE -Wall -Wstrict-protoypes -O6 -c
3c59x.c -o 3c575_cb.o
-I/usr/src/linux-2.4/include/pcmcia
-I/lib/modules/2.4.22-1.2115.nptl/build/include

I had to include the 2.4.22-1.2115.nptl/build/included

because it was compiling about 
#error Modules should never use kernel-headers system
headers etc...change -I/usr/src/linux/include to
-I/lib/modules/...

So I did.

But the resulting object file does is missing
symbols

insmod 3c575_cb.o
unresolved symbols : acpi_wake, acpi_set_pwr_state,
unregister_driver, register_driver

are these not available with 2.4?
