GNIC-II "skput:over"

Due to the lack of response to my query, I went
back and installed 2.0.35-SMP on both PCs. I
also upgraded to hamachi.c v0.07.
The module installs well. The outputs of ifconfig,
netstat, and /proc/net/dev look normal. But as
soon as I run ping or ttcp, one of the machines
hangs with:
Kernel panic: skput:over: 0483b074:2051
In swapper task - not syncing
I made sure that these cards do not have to share
interrupts.
The PC that hangs has:
ASUS P2L97-D motherboard with dual PII-266
Buslogic BT-952 SCSI controller
The other PC has:
ASUS P2B-DS motherboard with dual PII-300
and AIC7890 SCSI controller
Otherwise, they are very similar in configuration.
TIA for any help
