AppleTalk Multicasts and ifconfig allmulti

I am attempting to get various ZNYX cards going with AppleTalk, which
uses multicasting for almost everything. The strange thing is here that
the AppleTalk autoconfig does not properly recognize other routers, but
if I do an "ifconfig allmulti" the autoconfig works fine. I have also
tried other cards, like a 3c905B just to have something to test
against, and it works fine even without allmulti. I am using the stock
RedHat 5.2 setup, and I have also tried to use the 0.90 version of the
driver from the web site, makes no difference. Does anyone have any
good idea what this might be?
