I have a Linksys LNE100TX PCI ethernet card which I have been using for
over a year now. Somewhere in the 2.3.99-pre* series of kernels, the driver
went terribly wrong. The driver compiles and loads just fine. But as soon
as I ifconfig eth0, the kernel dies and I have to reboot. Happens every time
without fail. I've tried including driver in the kernel and using modules,
but I get the same results. I read through the archives and found someone
else had the same problem, but I couldn't find any replies/solutions. Here
are all the specs on my system

Linux celery 2.4.0-test2 #4 Sun Jun 25 04:28:58 EDT 2000 i686 unknown
Debian GNU/Linux 2.3 woody
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/pgcc-2.95.2/specs
gcc version pgcc-2.95.2 19991024 (release)

  Bus 0, device 15, function 0:
Ethernet controller: Lite-On Communications Inc LNE100TX (rev 32).
      IRQ 11.
      Master Capable. Latency=64.
      I/O at 0xe400 [0xe4ff].
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xeb000000 [0xeb0000ff].

Running a Celeron 300A with 256MB SDRAM.

Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Henry
